Welcome!

My name is Shino Nakamura, a strategy professional with over 10 years of experience spanning marketing, operations and sustainability across the finance and technology sectors. As a leader for the past 4 years, I've leveraged my expertise in data analysis, storytelling, and project management to drive high-impact initiatives at industry-leading companies. My ability to blend analytical thinking with strategic execution has consistently delivered measurable results throughout my career.

I recently completed my Master's in Public Administration at Harvard Kennedy School (2024), specialising in negotiation, sustainable business strategy, and behavioural science.

My professional journey is deeply intertwined with my passion for ocean conservation, which began with a serendipitous scuba diving experience in 2011 in Dahab, Egypt, where I came across the opportunity while backpacking through the area. And ever since, I've dived around the globe - exploring marine landscapes and fish species across the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic oceans (and even the still waters of Iceland!) These experiences have given me firsthand insight into the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems, including pollution, fish depletion, and changing migration patterns. This realisation has fueled my commitment to sustainability, and has led me to champion sustainability initiatives at companies like Expedia and Uber Japan, where I've worked to promote sustainable tourism and reduce plastic waste. Beyond my corporate work, I actively volunteer in environmental advocacy and support SDG projects.

Beyond the professional sphere, this site offers a glimpse into my personal interests and ongoing projects, including a dedicated section supporting the alopecia community.

Feel free to explore and connect if you share my interests in technology, sustainability, or making a positive impact on our world.
